Officially Retired | Headwinds? If you're using an add-on weather program it should give you a 'headwind component' figure. Something like -35 or something like that. What you do is multiply your total fuel by the headwind component (add a decimal point to the figure) such as 143500 x .35 then take the resulting amount and add that much more fuel to your flight. It's not scientific nor is it written anywhere that this is the correct procedure, but I've been doing it like this for years and I can safely say I've never run out of fuel. Hope it helps. |
