Airport: SUMU - Carrasco Int'l Airport, Uruguay
This is the largest airport in the country and serves the capital of Montevideo. It was originally opened in 1947 as a dual use field for civilian and military purposes. In 2007 construction began on a new terminal causing one of its three runways to be permanently shut down. The new terminal was opened in December 2009. The airport has also built a new mega-cargo terminal on airport grounds.
