US GA Tour - North CarolinaDescription: North Carolina is important to aviation history as home to the Wright Brothers first flight. It also bodes some beautiful scenery to fly around. On the far east of the state are the serene outer banks bordering the Atlantic Ocean, then on the west end you’re flying around the majestic Appalachians. On leg 5 you get to fly into First Flight Airport near Kill Devil Hills (shown in the tour image). This is where the Wright Flyer lifted off. It’s not very impressive in the FSX version, but perhaps other sim users will get to see the monument near the runway that honors this historic 12 second flight. For leg 14 into Avery County Apt, there are steep hills at the north end of the runway. It is highly suggested that you land on RWY 35 and then take off on RWY 17. However, if you really want to challenge yourself, attempt to make the landing via RWY 17 instead… If an airport code is not found in your sim, try removing the “K” in front of it as many state airport codes only use 3 digits.
