GA Tour – South CaucasusDescription: Similar to the Benelux Tour, this grouping captures the nations of Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan. They create a geographical border along the Caucasus Mountains separating Eastern Europe and Western Asia. They also forms a land bridge for trade connecting the Caspian Sea to the Black Sea without moving through Russia. All three nations were former Soviet occupied states but regained independence in 1991 following the collapse of the USSR. Making this tour was tricky because this part of the world isn’t well represented in FSX. Airport codes differed widely between the sim and what SkyVector shows today. Many airfields were built for military purposes during the Soviet occupation and either fell into serious disrepair or have been completely razed from existence. This tour was created by Steve K. (MAC0124). Airport Codes All stops exist within FSX and MSFS with a few minor code changes against MAC's database. In the tour’s Discord announcement two images have been included as aids. One is the overall route mapped from FSX using SkyVector, the other shows where each FSX airport exists against real world topography in Google Earth. If you run into trouble please find an airport in your sim near the intended stop. Just identify the diversion in your PIREP’s comment block for that flight.
